Do not be surprised if you see three-year-olds can read or five-year-olds like to read books. Teach children less than five years of reading are not a difficult thing, if done with the right methods plus the patience and diligence. Glenn Doman, author of How to Teach Your Baby to Read, has the answer.

Glenn Doman, founder of The Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential in Philadelphia, many years researching brain development in children, especially children affected by brain injury. He said, the brainchild, who had surgery even hemisferektomi (physical half her brain removed) could still have the same abilities of children with brain intact.

The brain child from the age of zero years, even in the womb so stimulate brain cells grow quickly. Hence, there is 2.5 year old child could read a book.

Physical development of the brain occurs very rapidly when the baby is born until the age of 18 months. If the child’s brain at birth is 25 percent of the adult brain (about 350 grams), at the age of 18 months of a child’s brain develops twice. A child’s brain continues to grow and at the age of six years has reached 90 percent of the adult brain weight. The brain development of children will reach 100 percent at the age of 18 years (about 1.4 kilograms).

At the time of birth, the baby’s brain contains 100 billion active cells. Expert neurobiology from the University of California Berkeley, Carla Shatz, mentions, there are a trillion glia cells (adhesive) that form a nest to protect and feed the active cell is. In fact, according to British psychologist, Tony Buzan, each active cell is capable of making 20,000 different connections with other cells.

Brainpower extraordinary child. Especially if the parents are able to give maximum stimulation to the brain, especially until the age of 18 months.

If not stimulated, the brain child can suffer. Researchers from Baylor College of Medicine have discovered, the child’s brain will shrink 20-30 per cent of normal size when he rarely played with or touched.

For the first stage, parents should prepare stiff cardboard and white-tipped markers flat major (one-centimeter-wide) red. Also, 0.5 inch size markers black color. Construction paper-scissors cut along the width of 60 centimeters by 15 centimeters, also provide a wide 12.5 inches.

Write the words on the cardboard cutout with a lowercase letter (not capitalized), the letter simple and consistent. For the first stage, make up 15 words in 15 pieces of cardboard, divided into three. For example, the first five pages are the names of family members (set A), and five second sheet bearing the names of the organs of the body (set B), while the third sheet bearing the names of flowers (set C).

On the first day of teaching, the parents showed only the first five pieces (set A) to the child, three times a day. On the second day, show set A and set B, also three times a day. While on the third day, read a set of A, B, and C for three times a day. On the fourth day, do as the third day. This is continued until the cards read 15-25 times. After that, parents can replace one word with a new word, and so on.

How to read the cards is relatively easy. Arrange the five pieces of card and faced with child. Take one card from the back and put it forward, and so on up to five words legible.

No explanation of anything about it, just read it quickly, no more than one second per card. Do not ask children to repeat the words that we read. When we read the word, pay attention to the child’s face, too long we’ll know where the child likes and what is not.

After five words read, parents can stop and hug the child to express their joy. Children can understand and feel if the events were happy parents.

After teaching the word, parents can go a combined word, like “picture book“, “nice shoes”, “beautiful glass”. Combined words can be made possible. How to read a combination of these words exactly what has been done on the single word.

If the combined word over, parents began to read the phrases or sentences core (short). For example, “a long elephant trunk”, or “father ate satay”. How to do it is the same as in the early stages. After the phrase, parents can continue with long sentences, for example “to teach younger women with a laugh” or “grandfather shaving in the yard”.

If all the stages already passed, replace a smaller paper and markers replaced with a black color. Things to remember, stop before the children get bored
